Is it possible that all of the hype surrounding this series and the recent release of Shadowfever has soured my experience? I said this already for Book 1 and I was hoping things would change in Book 2 and was almost optimistic they would, and then we’re back to flatness.

Maybe I shouldn’t have waited so long in between books and let people gently and not so gently prod me into reading this. The characters are incredibly complex and their development is amazing.
She goes on and on about how she’s isn’t a dumb kid anymore and she knows more now than she did just weeks ago, but really she doesn’t. A seelie, unseelie, druid, fae…how old is this guy…is he immortal ……she can feel something in him that is not totally human. I think the constant and sometimes weird metaphors could be cut out. On to Faefever now, in hopes of getting some of those answers and uncovering a few mysteries.

I’m beginning to think that no character is exclusively “good” or “bad” – I’m starting to believe that everyone’s motives exist in a shade of grey. She does her best to not let that happen and chooses what she thinks is best, not what the others tell her is. It actually shows how well planned this whole series had been. In my opinion, Bloodfever is even better than Darkfever.
